STACKING

HOME

Physical education plays a very important role in the overall development of a child. We have introduced stacking at our school in the physical education programme. Stacking on a very simplistic level involves the child packing cups or cup shaped containers in predetermined ways. Left hand cups are stacked onto right hand cups and so forth.

Other physical activities such as skipping, jumping and running are integrated into the stacking activities.

Fundamental to all of this is the process of teaching the child how to cross the so called "middle line" which is vitally important to the spatial and physical development of the child.
