LEADERSHIP IS VALUED AND ENCOURAGED AT LRPS

 

 

CONGRATULATIONS to our newly elected LEADERS for 2010

 

  • There is a democratic policy for the election of grade vii LEADERS. 
  • The children have substantial input in electing the leaders.
  • The teachers also vote. 
  • The Grade vii group goes on an adventure/leadership experience at the beginning of the year, to prepare for the process.
  • The voting results are counted and the transparent process reveals the list of elected LEADERS.
  • A special assembly is arranged to inaugurate the LEADERS.
  • The LEADERS then have further LEADERSHIP training.

HEAD and DEPUTY HEAD LEADERS 2010

 

We always try to keep this special announcement assembly a secret, to be a surprise to the LEADERS! This is not always as easy as it may seem, but when arriving at school early on the morning of 12 May and trying to get the ACTION GROUP to prepare the hall… without giving away ‘the secret’, I realized it was impossible!  It is amazing how when you do not want something known…. News spreads like wild fire!  We follow a transparent, democratic process for the election of LEADERS and then for DEPUTY HEAD AND HEAD LEADERS. The results of the voting process were as follows:
