VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION!!!
Dear Parents/Guardians
Please take note
of the following new promotion criteria from the
Department of Education that will be implemented this year.
Your child will be required to achieve certain levels of
competency in each of the Learning Areas in order to be
promoted to the next grade. Failure to achieve these levels
may require that your child will have to repeat the grade in
2010.
Please read the promotion requirements and contact the
school if you are uncertain as to what they mean.
FOUNDATION PHASE
To be promoted to the next grade in the Foundation Phase
(Grade 1, 2 and 3) the following levels must be achieved:
Levels:

1.
At least a 3 for Literacy (English)
2.
At least a 3 for Numeracy |
INTERMEDIATE PHASE
To be promoted to the next grade in the Intermediate Phase
(Grade 4, 5 and 6) the following levels need to be achieved:

1.
At least a 3 for any 3 Learning Areas
one of which must be
English
2.
At least a 2 for any 3 of the
remaining Learning Areas, one of which
must be Mathematics |

SENIOR PHASE
To be promoted to the next grade in the Senior Phase (7, 8
and 9) the following levels need to be achieved:

At least a 4 for any 3 Learning
Areas, one of which must be
English
2.
At least a 3 for any 3 of the
remaining Learning Areas one of which
must be Mathematics |
