HIGH SCHOOL EXPO AT LRPS HELD 15 APRIL 2010
Thank you to all the parents and LRPS children for the great
support!
Thank you to the high schools that exhibited: Willowridge,
Hoerskool Die Wilgers, Pro- Arte van Alfen Park, Pretoria
High School for Girls, Doxa Deo, Potchefstroom Girls’ High,
St Albans College, St Mary’s DSG, Christian Brothers’
College, Tyger Valley College, Hatfield Christian School and
Hatfield –on –line School. They all did a great job!
This function has become an annual
event at our school. Many parents move into the area and
have a plan to send their child/ren to LRPS and then to
Willowridge High. For many parents this plan works well.
The aim of the High School Expo is make parents aware of
this and other options too. All children are different.
Some may fulfil their dreams and potential by being at a
high school that offers different options. E.g. Smaller
classes, different subject choices, the ethos of an all
boys or all girls’ school and all that goes with that!
There are those children who are more culturally orientated
or sport- focused. There are also technical high schools.
There is the boarding option or learning in a different
language. The list goes on!
Ultimately parents
need to decide where their child will attend high school.
Parents need to complete admission forms and return these
promptly to the high schools to be assured of a place.
Parents will only be
informed about their acceptance at the government high
schools later in the year, so if they have applied for a
school where there is only a small chance of being accepted
it is wise to have plan B: usually the closest government
school to where you live.
Most schools require
a CONFIDENTIAL FORM to be completed by the school. These
need to be sent to Mrs Harris.
LRPS will deliver these to the schools. Confidential forms
are never returned to parents.
All the best to our
families as they make these important decisions!
Mrs Harris
